Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description

On an eight-pointed star shaped gold metal and epoxied device 11/8 (2.86cm) in height, a red cross in center over eight green rays between gold and white rays. Attached below the shield, a maroon scroll inscribed REVIRESCO in gold.



Symbolism

The eight-pointed star with rays radiating from the center resembles the Philippine Sun emblem, highlighting the hospitals original mission to treat Soldiers injured in Philippine battles during World War II. The green rays are reminiscent of Anahaw leaves, a widespread foliage in the Philippines, which represent high achievement, strength, and loyalty. The Red Cross is indicative of the professional medical care and services provided. The motto REVIRESCO translates to To Grow Strong Again conveying the dedication  of hospital personnel to the medical treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation o fall patients. The colors White andMaroon are associated with the Army Medical Corps.
